STAY AT HOME DAD – INTRODUCTION

I am a stay at home dad.  I have chosen to do this.  I am not unemployed.  I am not lazy.  I love my current job description.  I do not care what other people think.  I am a SAHD.  I am called Mr Mum. I am called primary carer.  I am viewed as a lesser man by older generations.  I am the mediator between friends about house work v’s paid work.  I am not alone.  I get special treatment when I am out with the kids thanks to peoples assumptions about my ability to deal with the kids.  I love my wife.  I love my kids.  I love that I have the chance to pursue different activities that I want to do.  I love helping out others with kids.  I love doing something out of the norm.  I love change.  I love playing games with the kids.  I love cartoons.  I love making my kids happy.  I love the kids first time at everything.  I love cooking.  I love gardening.  I love projects.  I am a very happy stay at home dad.

I had a book I called the survival guide for looking after my kids.  My wife said that I needed to get the book out there and help out other stay at home dads.  So I have created this website to help the lads or ladies in surviving the kids…

The dad survival guide is finally here…  It’s chop-out time…

I am not going to tell you to buy ingredients that are hard to gather, I am not going to tell you that you need to exercise, I am not going to tell you what to do…  I will tell you about what I do and maybe, just maybe you will like it.

I have been a full time stay at home dad (SAHD) now for over 4 years and thought I might start helping other dads through my experiences.  As a stay at home dad I found that I could not get the answers I wanted from the internet, just information aimed at mums not a stay at home dad.  I am a list guy and a high energy person and this survival guide for kids was originally made just for me and it worked great but my wifey said do something with this info rather than hiding it away.  Survival Guide is born…

The food & recipes in the survival guide are able to be completed by any stay at home dad at any skill level.  The ingredients are canned, frozen or fridge.  There are very few steps in each recipe and can only add variety to the weekly menu.

The projects in the survival guide are ranging from very easy to moderate for the stay at home dad.  I am self taught so if I can do it, you should be able to.  Most of the project can be completed with the kids involved and gives everybody something to do.

The blog goes into the more personal experiences of a stay at home dad ranging from a the kids trashing the house to my vasectomy, ouch.

The activities section gives tired stay at home dad the chance to have a fun day.  Sometimes its just the image that prompts us into gear for the day.  To save time I have listed over a hundred activities both indoor and outdoor to choose from.

The funny section is stories about the experiences with my kids as a stay at home dad and other funny stay at home dad stuff.

The advice section focuses on the daily grind of being a stay at home dad, it offers advice ranging from bin location to washing the clothes.

The buy this section is me experiencing products that have really helped out this stay at home dad with the kids.  I promise you, buy it and your life will be easier.

The video section is a variety of topics that needed to be expressed personally.

I am sure the information I talk about will be a good tool to help out the other stay at home dads.
